MARK NORTON - Head Coach

Mark Norton enters his second season as the head coach of Golden Eagles Baseball.  In only his first season Norton not only racked up 21 wins, a school record, but also led the team to yet another Mid East Region Championship, and a 4th place NCCAA Division II National finish, also a school best. Norton comes to CCU after a sensational three year stint as an assistant coach at Southeastern University where he helped lead the SEU Fire to three straight NCCAA National Championships.  During his tenure at Southeastern, Norton coached two players that went on to be drafted or sign with teams in Major League Baseball.  Three other SEU players went on to sign independent baseball contracts.

In the summer of 2008 Norton worked under former World Series Champion and Atlanta Brave pitcher Greg McMichael.   Coach Norton served as the head coach of the Conyers Miracle in the Summer Collegiate League in Geogia where McMichael served as General Manager.

Coach Norton played his collegiate baseball at Nyack College in New York where he was a standout relief pitcher.  He graduated from Nyack with a BA in Communications.

Norton looks to continue the programs success, as the Golden Eagles move up into the NAIA's KIAC confernece this season.
